Guides & articles
When is my MCS-150 biennial update due?
Your USDOT number sets the schedule: last digit is the month, next-to-last the year. The table, the penalties, and FMCSA's current deactivation pause.
What are the 2027 UCR fees?
Up roughly 20% across every bracket, effective October 1, 2026. The full fee table and what the ten non-participating jurisdictions change (nothing).
When do Clearinghouse annual queries run?
A rolling 12-month clock from each driver's last query. There is no December 31 deadline, and that's the point.
Drivers who fail the English check already get parked. FMCSA wants to make that permanent.
The rule is 90 years old and isn't changing. Enforcement has flip-flopped for twenty years; permanence is the news. Comments close October 9.

Who writes this
Software reads every FMCSA Federal Register notice, every day. A human editor checks every issue before it ships and reads everything sent to hello@thefleetbrief.com. Every claim is verified against its original official source, anything we get wrong goes in a public log, and if this brief ever winds down, subscribers hear it first. Nobody pays for a Monday that doesn't come. How each issue gets made →
